I could write an entry every week just about the different traditional markets (전통시장), their history, and the many facets I love about them. To me, life in Korea is not complete without a connection to the traditional markets, their vendors, the goods, sights, sounds, and smells you find there. I suppose that is true anywhere you go, because its these types of markets that really ground you in a place. The stalls connect you to real people, their voices connect you to the language, and the foods especially connect you to the culture.
We will visit in more detail down the line, but for today, here are some photos from Jochiwon Market (조치원 시장).

Seafood is one of the most interesting aspects of traditional markets in our opinion!

Ultimately, our favorite action at the market is the food!
